Is it night already

Arjun stooped a little. Before he could even try the girl was gone. ‘ Something happened there? ‘ an old man’s voice erupted in a trice. Arjun looked at him. There he was, sitting on a pile of waste papers, decrepit but something odd in his old eyes, something senile, something inexplicable . ‘ She lay there probably lifeless even before I arrived.’ Arjun said with slight hoarse voice.
‘ Ya, tomorrow no sparing, it is night already, I don’t work after sunset’ . Old man replied. Arjun didn’t want to talk anymore , neither the old man’s sentences could make any sense.
Arjun sighed and informed the police.
The very next day Arjun could manage an afternoon leave and started heading towards his girlfriend Nina’s place. Suddenly his car stopped before the same alley. One man was lying on the same place the girl was yesterday. Soon to be evening, dim orange sunlight creating partial shadow, disturbing circumstances! Except the old man sitting again on the same pile. Arjun walked towards him. He heard the old man murmuring ‘ told ya, I don’t work after sun down, it is not night already. Justice served hot and crisp on time. The girl isn’t crying anymore. Look, she is leaving finally . Poor thing had to wait almost 20 hours.’ Arjun looked around. Nobody , not a soul was there, just a sudden brush of cold air touched his face.
